We keep a camper here year round with full sewer hook up. We are 1/4 mile from the State Park entrance at Barren. I pulled a camper here 4 years ago and we love it and our fellow campers that stay around us.

We've stayed at the State Park and Bailey's....IMO Bailey's is the nicer of the two, but both have everything you need.

You might consider the tailwaters campground. It has a boat ramp for the river below the dam there at the campground (small boats). There is a possibility that the Port Oliver Ramp for the lake, approximately half mile away, will be open then. It flooded last spring and has not been open since. Call the Corp of Engineers at Barren and verify the opening date.
We camp at Barren a LOT. Both at Baileys Point and the Narrows. Either way is a winner. If you have kiddos, i suggest the Narrows because the playground is better for them and the beach is nicer. They also recently remododled the bathrooms and redid the camping spaces at teh Narrows. But if you beach your boat at the Narrows it is a LONG walk to the water. B Loop on Baileys Point is great.
Narrows not open in April.
I have not been to barren for a few yrs. But if you want a camping spot at baileys point you better call now to reserve cause they fill up quick. Im sure by now all spots for holiday weekends are already booked. Im not sure about the other campgrounds as to how fast they fill up.
I've stayed at both the State Park and the Narrows and enjoyed both. You can reserve the Corp of Engineer campgrounds on www.reserveamerica.com not sure when they open though.
