    Guntersville mid march?

Looking for what to expect. I know alot depends on weather or has it rained to much or not. March 17-20th is when I'll be down there. Hoping to get in on the pre-spawn pattern. Haven't a clue what water temps might be.

Water temps should be hovering around 52 by then...depends on the weather down there. I will say this with 100% confidence - one thing you can count on is a LOT of boat traffic!! By far the busiest time of the year for that lake. Good luck, have fun, be safe!!

They are already in the low 50's. The flw tournament is going on the 18th or 19th so good luck, we are waiting for a call from a guide to let us know when they are hitting and it is getting good. From what I have heard only 2-4 pound range is being caught right now with a few six pounders but that is just what I have read of other reports. Was planing on leaving this coming Wednesday but with this rain hitting the Tennessee river I am sure it will raise the lake and muddy it up! I would hate to go there and not catch much but thats always a possibility. If we do leave soon I will post on here how we are doing while there. Good luck Cooter!

Yeah I'm pretty excited about it. Wich probably means I'll get skunked. I thought I read somewhere we're the water temps were already upper 40's to lower 50's.

That figures about flw. I was just trying to plan it around the full moon phase. Wich is probably useless to a novice fisherman like myself.

Ha ha I understand man I enjoy it a lot and try to learn as much as possible but I am not competitive, I would like to do some tournaments but I will probably waist my time and money but I want one from guntersville to put on the wall.

My problem is is that I'm ultra competitive, but I can't run and jump like I used to so I've dove into fishing head over hills. I love trying to figure out how to catch them. It's nice when you develop a strategy and it actually works.

Depending on air temps you should easily see water in the 60's . Rattle traps will be hard to beat that time of year. Lake elevations dont vary much on Guntersville. You will find fish in all phases of the spawn more so pre spawn and spawn. Had a friend just get back and he had three over 8 .....Good luck

According to bfl everstart article today, the water is from 50 to 60 degrees depending on the river or main lake. 29 ilbs leads after day 1 with 10 limits @20 ilbs

Good luck with that...though an 8 lb'er is by no means a trophy fish.
