TU's website should have something for you. Sent me an action alert yesterday. The bill is HB 1 if you want to look into it. All kinds of wildlife funding is on the block. So far this bunch seems dumber than the last.

From another board I learned that a national fish hatchery in Irwin TN will get the axe if the proposed budget is approved. The article also mentioned hatcheries at Dale Hollow and Wolf Creek as being possible candidates for closure. Anyone else heard of this?

Yes I have heard the news. In the other stuff I read they never mentioned Wolf Creek, but was talking to a KDFWR fishery biologist yesterday and he told me it was being mentioned.
Do one of you have a link to this HB 1? I'd like to take a look at it and see what it says.

Thanks Boone...something I pciked out of the article you provided a link to is that along with these cuts the service is proposing increases for other programs, like a $10 million increase for Landscape Conservation Cooperatives, which has no economic benefit to the American people and is not supported by most State Fish and Wildlife Agencies, according to the group.Check out home page of www.lakecumberland.com under Lake Cumberland News.
The times sure are tough....there's hardly anyone anywhere that hasn't felt the effects of this recession and had to make serious efforts to reduce spening.

Terrible news...if they close the Wolf Creek Hatchery, all trout fishing in this area is done for! Hope it doesn't happen....

Even closing Dale Hollow could be a blow. That is where we get our eggs.
