Never fished elkhorn. Where do you fish in georgetown?

Finally got out on the water today. This years fishing season has begun. Headed out on a 1 1/2 hr drive to the ohio river @ 6am. (probably not a good idea with all of the recent rain and floods) arrived to find my fishing spot under several feet of water. Immediately scratched that plan and headed to the next closest fishable body of water (according to google maps) and ended up at williamstown lake. (whats up with that place) couldn't figure out how to get to the water from high atop a hill, so scratched that plan as well. I became desperate and headed to georgetown ky to fish elkhorn creek for the first time. Fished from 11am to 3pm. Caught 2 small bass, and a 9'' crappie. Water was surprisingly clear with strong current towards middle of creek. Fished minnow beneath bobber, and white 2'' twist tail jigs. Caught fish on both rigs. Had several bites get off. Good to finally be out. The fishing can only get better from here. Everyone have a great fishing season! Will keep yall posted.

I was out there yesterday as well in the boat only caught one smallie and broke off a huge one (time to buy a net) but there are several places on 25 across from arbys, cardome, and great crossing on 227 those are the places that i use.
thanks alot
i fished rt. 227 just under the bridge at great crossing. There were several people fishing the dam, but current was too strong for me. I dont fish elkhorn often but the potential for big fish is there. Very peaceful also.
