uhhhh slober, hmmmm slober........WOW! that is a heckuva a fish. since the water was dropped for dam repairs, several of my fishing buddies and i had NOT seen nearly as many "big" spots caught. noting especially that the larger ones (2-3#) seemed to have "vanished". now i know, they were eaten by this beast. that is the most impressive spot i have ever seen. congratulations on an absolute trophy spot! can only imagine how wild the battle with that one was. thanks for the picture!

Sweet!!!
Nice fish, how far from a state record was it ?
hey barry the fish was caught on a jerkbait, i catch alot of really big ky's on live shad but this fish, 2 smallies over 7 and 3 LMs over six were all caught on a jerkbait over the course of four days, probably the best jerkbait fishing ive ever had, the jerkbait bite has fizzled out for me since the temps dropped though.
sorry to say the fish was not put back, the more i looked at the fish i knew it had to go on the wall. my dad is taking it to the taxidermist tomorrow.
ALL smallies are put back no matter how big, i love those fish more than anything that swims. And i;ve only kept one big LM in the last 10 yrs, it was right at 9 lbs out of cumberland year before last.
I would have mounted that beast also. That fish had to be near the end of it's life cycle anyway, what a freak, Jeff you do not have to appologize for mounting that Hoghead.
That is a toad for sure!!! Nothing wrong with keeping a fish of a lifetime to mount...to many people get hung up on keeping bass, its not a sin, and it doesnt hurt to keep one to mount. I caught a 4 1/2 lb ky, and I mounted it also, knew I would probaly never catch one like that again...Congratulations!!!
