I'm headed to Cumberland this weekend for the first trip the year, and was also thinking of going to either Dale or Green River lake depending on what we found at Cland.
Looks like from the recent reports on here Dale might be the better choice, but wanted to check with others before deciding.
If to Dale, was planning to hit the Ky side but have never fished that area for smallmount and not sure if that's a good choice or not.
Thanks all. Any help would be appreciated.

Take a look over at Smalljaw.com forums. 104 Smallmouth in two days. I'd be going to Dale all weekend.
This cold front and the falling water killed the bite at green....i'd say go to dale for sure....from the reports ive been seeing on cumberland i'd say you might just skip it all together and spend all your time on dale....a bad day on dale is better than a good day on most lakes
could very well be a case of blind hog finds a acorn but i caught em good today at green.with that being said im going to dale hollow saturday.
I AGREE!!!!!!! Even on the days i go out and blank, I still am glad i went out. This cold front and the falling water killed the bite at green....i'd say go to dale for sure....from the reports ive been seeing on cumberland i'd say you might just skip it all together and spend all your time on dale....a bad day on dale is better than a good day on most lakes
We fished Cumberland today from 8 am till 6 and only had 1 keeper (3lb) smallie and had 3 small ky's. Very stingy water and temp avg was around 52-54. Bites was almost none.
Dale Hollow is on fire, EVERYBODY is catching fish right now down there, pass Cumberland up and go to Dale.
Thanks guys. This helps a bunch. I hate that feeling of wishing I'd went somewhere else.
Probably do Sat/Sun on Dale, and visit with my family in RS while I'm down. I've only been to Dale once a couple of years ago in the fall and didn't do very well, so hopefully this spring trip will be better.
I'll give everybody a full report when I get back.
I fished Dale out of the state dock from about 10am to 5pm on Sat and boated a few, but hard fishing b/c of the wind. Water was about 52 and a little stained. Swimbaits and bandit 300 cranks.
Fished Cumberland on Sun at Lily for about 4 hrs and got skunked. Water was about 53 and muddy. Wind wasn't as bad but the tmotor still got a workout.
Was a frustrating outing so trying again next week...(glutton for punishment )
