Just bought the boat.
Don't know what the thing in the area highlighted by the red circle is for.
Is it to mount a small kicker motor? If so something else has to fit in there to make that possible.
Any ideas.
Thanks
Peter
maybe a mount for a transducer since it's below the water line. That way you don't have to go through the transom with any screws. And if that's not what it IS for then that's what I would use it for lol.
Some sort of a mount for a boarding ladder???? That may be a good use for it. I wouldn't cut it off.
It's for a Kicker
If it's a kicker plate you probably would have to use something like a cabela's Marine tech outboard motor bracket. I wonder if they ever used it for a kicker because I would think you would have to have holes drilled in it. I have never used one but I do have a outboard motor bracket I bought a few years from a coworker.
I have one just like it . It is a sleeve for a kicker. the kicker mounts to a taller transom like plate that has a flat aluminum plate attached to it. you slide it down into the plate attached to your boat. works very well and it does not come out and i have had mine in some rough water. getting it out is actually so tough I quit using it but bought a another boat for skinny water
Thanks everybody. I have a 4 horse Nissan 4 Stroke. Sounds like it is sort of a hassle.Think that size motor would be a chore to use with this thing?
