I'll be leaving for Barren River Lake tomorrow. Any tips? Baits, locations, creeks, points? What works best on the lake for good sized fish and where do you catch them?
Thanks!

Im no expert by any stretch of the imagination but if you are fishing the Southern Divisional and your looking to win I would find a deep water pattern to fish. You may be able to catch a limit in the shallow cover but I doubt you'll win the tournament that way. It will be safe to say a lot of 10-12 limits will be brought in but you will need to average about 16 a day to have a shot. Most fish are still pre-spawn.
I'll only be fishing one day. I'm with the juniors, I'm 15 years old. I figured that if the fish are still in pre-spawn, some points and secondary points that lead into major spawning coves would be good, and also there may be some fish up shallow preparing to bed because of the stable weather we will have before the tournament.
So much for the stable weather. We got close to 4 inches of rain in Elizabethtown.
ITS BARREN
the lake changes day to day they are used to it with out giving too many details
just remember the fish are on a pattern right now for the most part they will be in the same spots you found them a day or two ago only the water is a little deeper now! dont change up the pattern chasing them up in the bushes yet till u know for shure they have moved!
to the fella who suggested to find the deeper fish and stick with them AMEN...there are still many good fish in barren and the deeper bite is usually better fish
tourneys in the last three weeks if you didnt have 18 pounds plus you wasnt in the money
up river is good the backs of creeks also good and dont rule out the main lake twards the dam ( a bag of main lake fish could hand your tail to ya)
GOOD LUCK TO ALL hope the B.A.S.S. enjoy the stay here at barren river lake
