I live in louisville and i'm planning to go fish a paylake monday. This will be my first time this year and i'm wondering where the best fishing is right now. As of right now i'm planning on going to childress paylake.
Childress is a good lake. A friend of mine told me her son was just out at Ables {Catfish haven) on dixie highway and caught a bunch. just depends with the cool air coming thru and suppose to rain fri sat and sun
I heard that there are good numbers of catfish coming out of
Helen's Hide-A-Way in Shively. I've been wanting to try it myself but I can't stop chasing the green fish. I did drive by there and it looks really good since they reopened it.
U sed to go there but never could it the right bait. some of the regulars over there know the right bait to use. if you know it you can catch a boat load out of the second lake
i used to go to helens all the time
if it rainin we always throw crickets 2-3 under cork. never did it at childress but it has worked everywhere else we have done it esp in heavy rain
shrimp/night crawlers and strawberry chicken/night crawlers have never done me wrong in the spring and early summer
I have tried shrimp/night crawlers and strawberry chicken/night crawlers everything at helens and have not done any good. I would like to find what the regulars use. I have seen guys fish all day using these baits and nothing. Then someone pulls up in a car throws out line and bang a fish and this just continues they use something over there the works
moon shine and chicken
that's a little too expensive of bait for me. haha
i guy next to me used to kill em at helens on salmon
