    Thumbs up Is Patoka Fishable?

If I don't fish some where soon I can't be responsible for myself. I'm off Thursday 5/5/2011 and the only place close I can go to is Patoka. Can you get under the bridges and are there any ramps open? Thanks for any help I just need to get out! Tight Lines

Only ramp that was closed Sunday was at fisherman's camp ground-if it hadn't rained more you could've gotten under a bridge-but I'm not sure after today's and tomorrow's monsoon.

Main lake is fishable and there is alot more lake now than there used to be - if it keeps raining you may be launching from one of the ramp parking lots. Watch out for picnic tables . . .

Fished today out of Lick Fork. The Corps moved the dock so you can still use it. The water is in good shape just as high as it can get since it is at the top of the overflow. We were crappie fishing and caught several from 12 to 13 1/2 inches. Not sure about the bridges as we didn't get near any of them.

Paul, I need you to give me some lessons on hook setting with a frog. I played a 3lb female prepping for spawn perfectly and couldnt set the hook. I have yet to successfully catch a fish on a frog.

btw... Sorry for hijacking the thread.

I was pulling Bandit 200s. Caught the fish over grass and off points. The lake is actually pretty clear on the main lake. Temp was 62 most places we fished.
