IMO you cannot go wrong with either. Most of my rods are four piece and they are convenient because I can easily slip them behind the truck seat.

I feel like the little brother that keeps bothering you guys but I'll ask anyway.... Is there an advantage to either setup? I am just guessing the 4 piece is great for travelling and that's why it was made? I am curious....

One of my favorite rods is a 7 piece ! Which I leave put together , LOL
Like Tim said Don, the 4 piece is just for ease of traveling really...good for tight spaces and hiking. The 2 piece is the most commonly found, and will fit easily into any car space when broke down. I own a 4 piece for hiking and such...but I always fish a 2 piece.
