My buddy and I fished Cherokee Lake last week. We hit it just right. The day before we fished it they set some kind of record for the lowest temp for that day by something like 5 deg. We fished on and caught smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, and hybrid stripers. Some of our fish came on Flitterbaits that we would either burn and pump, or lift drop. Most came on the burn and pump. You better have a good grip on your fishing pole when they hit because it seems they can't stand the burn and pump. Some of our hybrids came on a wake bait that we used when the water calmed down during the day and then again after 1 a.m. when the Alwife shad came up. We caught 14 hybrids the last night on our wake bait. Man that was fun. I love that lake. All our hybrids were 3-9 lb. The smallmouth were 1 1/12 to 2 3/4 lb. I caught one largemouth and it was 3 3/4 lb. Cant wait to go back.
