fishy smell

I noticed when i fishing there was a strong smell of fish and since it's not time for a full moon I was woundering if it was catfish spawning ? I found 2 places like this. The water is 80 Deg. at rough river and I can't think of anything else it could be right now.

smelled the same thing an hour ago at jamestown marina, strong! also smelled it at holmes bend marina on green river a few nights ago, strong as well. not sure what it is...but who doesnt like the smell of fish?!! lol

I think you are correct hydro. Bluegill spawn. Bolts Lake, Corinth, Elmer Davis all smell this time of year.

I didn't think gills were spawning this time of the mounth but hay I'm all for it. Maybe i need to use my sonar and see if i can find them I may get lucky and there will be some size to them.
