My wife and I are looking to go to Kentucky Lake for our anniversary in late June. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good lakeside hotel with a marina where we could rent a boat to fish from. Any tips are greatly appreciated. I know finding a place with openings will be tough this late but gotta give it a shot. Hey its for a woman willing to go fishing for an anniversary trip![]()

Big Bear Resort, Green Turtle Bay to add to the list....
Moors has got it all. We've been to the Moors almost every year for the past 20 years. Good location easy access to some good LBL bays and they are on Bear Creek which is like a small lake in it'self.
If money is not an issue stay at Green Turtle take her to Patti's to eat one night and rent a 17 ft aluminum Triton with steering and 50 hp motor from Kentucky Dam. If money is an issue go to Moors'
A note concerning Patti's 1880's Settlement: Patti's takes reservations. But the other half of the restraunt, Bill's, they are not needed. (Unless things have changed since I ate there several years ago.) Food/menu is the same either side.
Just a thought, but Lake Barkley SP is one of the finest public lodges in the nation.I second going to Miss Patti's,its a must for a special time like your anniversary.Get the porkchop and save space for the pie..yikes..its good!!!
Might could take her to the Willow Pond too.Or the Dinner Bell.
The Dinner Bell is excellent real country cooking; I know good country cooking.

I agree with all recommendations the Dinner Bell Willow Pond the State park on Barkley and the Brass Lantern in Aurora was also very good several years ago. If you do not make reservations for Patti's go for lunch. Also you need to stroll through the outside landscaped area and with shops gazebo etc. It is a must see if you have never been there. Also there is a great restaurant and they serve alcohol it is the Oasis in Eddyville. I have never had a bad meal there. I went there on quilters weekend and service was a little slow they were packed but that is what I expected. They did not charge us for our food and there were six of us. We insisted that we pay but they only charged us for our drinks from the bar.
