Thinking about heading to West Boggs tomorrow. I heard from somebody there was a massive carp die off and the banks were lined with them. Does anyone know if this has been cleaned up and if it has had any affect on the bass fishing?

I was there last weekend. There are hundreds of dead carp everywhere. I was told that it is a disease they have that they can't determine (seems odd that it couldn't be found out). Two years ago, the same thing happened with bass and catfish, but they cleaned up the dead fish before the holiday weekend so nobody saw them. The fishing has gone downhill drastically since the first die-off. They are talking about draining the lake and re-stocking it next year which can only help. When I was there, I only caught three bass; only one was a keeper. I talked to several others there and seemed to have fared better than the average angler. I personally would be leary about keeping any fish from there since they are all in the same water that is killing fish off.
i dont the bass are hurt any...lol
Between my partner and i we had 12 or 13 bass and one catfish. Only two keepers, neither made two pounds. Decent day just no size. Most of the carp have been taken care of by nature, but there are still a few here and there.
