    Van Buren Ramp?

Is the Van Buren ramp on Taylorsville in good shape? I have a deep-v, and I'm a bit concerned about it being silted in after the spring floods. Is Possum Ridge a better ramp?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It does. Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to try Possum Ridge. I believe the water is a bit deeper up that way.

You need to be careful at Van Buren. Several incidents of vandalism there. It is not patrolled enough like Possum Ridge. But fishing can be good at that end of the lake.

    Re: Van Buren Ramp?

Just got back. The water color is good: green and clear down a few feet. Water temps started off about 80 and hit 83 by the time I quit (2:30 PM--too hot). I put in at Possum Ridge (excellent ramp and much better than Van Buren) and fished toward the dam. I got a few hybrids on a rattle trap (couple of pounds each). Not a bad day, but I could not believe how busy that lake is even on a week day. Sometimes it was a bit difficult to navigate with all of the catfish noodles on the lake. I saw at least 12 boats with 30-50 noodles each. I see now why the KDFW was downgraded the catfishing for Taylorsville; no fishery of that size could sustain that kind of pressure. Not wanting to offend anyone--just an observation.

I didn't bring the noodles yesterday but plan on using them tomorrow afternoon. Oddly enough, I would ususally agree with you on seeing them everywhere. Yesterday didn't see a single person with noodles.
