I see the Army Corps has dropped generation way back, to 3.4K. Should be great wading but the water temp is already well into the 60's. Wondered if anyone has tried the river this weekend. Should be a ton of fish still in the river from what the state has been stocking all year, since I can't imagine there's been much pressure with the flow so high, until just the past few days. Thinking of trying it this week. Will post a report if I do.
Fished it for 4 hours this morning and got skunked! First time ever on the Cumberland.I see the Army Corps has dropped generation way back, to 3.4K. Going to give it another try on Tuesday....
Thanks--not encouraging. I'll probably be there on Tuesday as well. Let's hope we have better luck.
3,000 cfs is not a favorable flow on the river. Sure it gives more water to maneuver a boat yet I find it's not good for fishing. Water just kinda flows spreads the river out and good fast current hard to find. Bump it up or cut it back is more favorable to the trout. I like water thats gonna push my boat at least 2 mph. hard to find at 3,000. That's just my opinion.
