No surprise. They've been there for years just not as prolific as they are in other areas. Me & Ricky C were fishing down from Sugar Bay on a Tue evening tournament and I stuck 1 with a crankbait. Took it back to the ramp and left it for Game Warden Sharon to see. He said they had no idea they were that far upstream. That was probably back in 2005 also. I'd suspect with all the high water they've migrated in numbers. Our Asian carp in FL are mudfish, gar, sturgeon fish. snakeheads.....Hate them too.

Holler at me if you ever get near.

Bowfin, sturgeon, and gar are native to Florida; they are not invasive species.

I've seen them on the Ohio River pool at Louisville, above McAlpine.

Have also seen them on Kentucky and Barkley Lake. They have been in there for several years now, and their numbers have kept growing so that more and more people are now also seeing them. I had one nearly knock me over one morning while I was setting decoys out for a duck hunt on Barkley. The thing scared the heck out of me!

Anybody know if there is a law against shooting them like skeet. It would be an interesting time.

That's what I have said before. Shoot them and use them as catfish bait for the big blues in the river or fertilizer for the garden or just turtle food!!

It is illegal. I saw a CO talk about it on an episode of KY Afield. It certainly would be fun though!

OMG that would be fun! Can you image what double-ott buckshot would do!

Okay. if the use of guns is illegal, how about "BATTER UP"

Now batting, playing Bow, with a .330 batting average, and 29 home runs this year, swinging a 34- Inch/48-Ounce Louisville Slugger Solid Maple Bat, Tronto Blue Jays Jose Bautista.

The fish are winding up, the carp is in the stretch, and here comes the delivery.........Its a high fast ball, Bautista leans in and swings, he got all of that one......its a high long drive over the neighboring bass boat, its over the houseboat, it cleared the gas pumps at the dock........this one might be.....it may be.......yes.....its out ta here!

And the crowd goes wild. Next on deck, Sammy Sousa.
