You can fish below the dam at weisenberger mill from the bank or wade it and catch some decent LM and SM.

There are several spots in Georgetown along the North Fork of the Elkhorn. The county operates public parks at Great Crossing, Cardome, and on 460 near K-Mart. Small bass, bream, and some crappie are the primary catch. There are also two FINS lakes in Georgetown. Go to the KDFW site to get the location of the FINS lakes. You can also access the Kentucky River at Boonesborough and at a few of the locks in the area.

If you're willing to do some wading, Hickman creek in Jessamine county is about 45 minutes from Lexington. Great stream for smallmouth and rock bass.

If you don't mind driving less than an hour and a half, Salato wildlife center in Frankfort has a couple ponds that are stocked regularly. Also, Elkhorn creek in Frankfort can be waded in spots and you can even do some bank fishing in some spots.
