Forget work... I'm going fishing! (Banklick creek report)

Well I completely slept through the alarm this morning and didn't wake up till 5 mins AFTER I should have clocked in. My first thought was "Oh my god I need to get to work!" But that thought was very quickly replaced with "Fishing!"

So I kissed the ol' lady goodbye, told her to hope my boss wasn't mad that I was "going to be so late", got in my car, called the boss, made up some lame excuse about the babysitter canceling on us and not having anyone to watch the kids, and headed out to the creek.

The water was low and only about a foot of visibility. Covered about a half mile of the creek with various lures. Pop-R, tube jig, Crickhopper, fire tiger minnow, and soft plastic craws. Caught a nice mixed bag with 4 smallmouth, 2 Largemouth, 6 rock bass, and 5 sunfish. I also had 3 very generous smallmouth that took it upon themselves to save me the trouble of unhooking them by jumping and spitting my tube jig back at me... They're just so nice aren't they? All fish were caught in shady, rock bottom areas along the banks. My biggest were one of the largemouth which was 15 inches, caught on a tube jig. And one of the smallmouth which was also 15 inches, caught on a Crickhopper.

Beautiful weather, beautiful fish, and no work. I think it's safe to say I had a pretty good day!

I'll 2nd that.Guess thats why i never missed work with out the Boss(David Long) letting me. Most of the time he would let me.

I'm about 99.999% sure he is not nor will ever be a member on this or any fishing forum. I once asked him if he liked to fish. He said Nope, don't have the patients for it. So I think I'm safe. I appreciate the concern though.
