Lake Cumberland - Next week or week after next

My wife and I are going to LC either next week or week after next, was hoping some of you locals could advise me on which week you think might be best, will be fishing for Bass only. Also I am looking for a place to stay that will be pet friendly. I think Alligator II is, but was looking for more. Does not have to be on the lake, just close. All we need is a bed and a kitchen to cook.

TimberPointe on the way to Jamestown marina I'm pretty sure allows Pets. They also have kitchens in some of those units. Reasonable priced and nice folks. If it was me I'd wait till later. Traditionally the ole lake gets better as the water temps drop and the days get shorter. But that lake is really struggling right now. It has been a bear to fish this year and get on any good fish. It has moments but many more dead periods than hot periods..

Consider Dale Hollow, the lake is brimming with brown sows that wanna eat. I wish it was closer for me and I'd forget all about Cumberland. I don't think Cland will return to it's old self until they fix that dam and get the water up and have a couple of good spawn classes. Too many years of poor spawns are making for some tough days..
