They where swiss made by Zebco for ABU in the 70's. In the 80's they where made in Japan. I got an early Japan model love fishing with it. The Japan models are not medal but I think the same insides.

Anybody got any info on these? Fished with my grandfather this weekend & we were talking about them. He says they're one of, if not his favorite spinning reels ever.
He showed me one & it said Zebco on it, but had the Abu Garcia Seal on it as well. I know that Abu still makes the cardinal line too. I thought Zebco was owned by Quantum, or maybe the other way around? Just looking for a little history lesson if anybody has any insight.
Thanks

I have three of these from the 70's. Still work great but two of the spools split. Anyone have spare spools . ( these were made in Sweden)
