Who does a good job of putting in a recess tray for foot control or is it as easy as it looks? Any certain brand better than the others? Thanks for any help.

Its not that hard. I put mine in. Check to see waht is under your deck before cutting. Then
layout yor pattern where you want. this the hard part deciding where to put it then use a sawsall.
I put mine in and the form was the hardest thing, from the deck to were the bilge starts was more tan a arms length, when it rains the water has to go somewere, if I had one tip, it would be to put the foot pedal far enough forward I almost put mine to close to the pole seat

Some are injected plastic others are alum. I went with the alum. and never had any issues. Like was mentioned lay it out twice it's an easy install, cut a template out of cardboard after laying it out tape it down and stand on the deck and see if you like it, for me the further forward the better. Dealer will probably want between 2-4 hrs of labor @85.00 +- an hour to install +recess price
Put one in my old tracker PT175 and had no problems. Like everyone else suggested, measure twice and cut once. I wish my new nitro foot controller was more recessed like the one I installed on the tracker.
Thanks for the input. I guess i have a little winter time project.
I think I'll add this to my winter time boat upgrades as well (along with carpet and a bilge pump). What brand of recessed tray do you guys recommend?
I use the aluminum one from Controll. Checked with a local marina and was regailed with the story about how it would take two hours to install (@ $75/hr), plus the cost of the tray. I cowboyed up and did it myself in about a half an hour. All it takes is a drill, jigsaw, screwdriver, and a magic marker to trace it on the deck.
