Had my rod laying on the deck with the bail open and she hit with such speed that she still nearly jerked my rod in the water....took one really good run and then went out in the deep water and laid down....I'd pull her up a little and she'd go right back down and lay on the bottom

I don't know. That's a pretty big one. I've caught one just under legal on my spinning rod and it was pretty difficult to land.

Do any of you striper guys have a guess at what this fish would weigh? I get to tell the story and when people ask how much it weighed I really don't know what to tell them....To give you an idea I'm 6'4 and a little over 200lbs....The only fish I've ever got to deal with this large were catfish...I guessed her in the 30lb range but I could be seriously over or underestimating her...Didn't get a measurement on her either
