Hi Everybody,
Fished Otter Creek this morning from 8AM till 11AM.
Water was fairly high & fast, but clear.
Bite was slow & they were not very aggressive; But I did catch 2 quality fish,
a 14 inch smallmouth, and a 16 inch brown trout (biggest trout ever for me).
I released both. All trout are catch & release only October through March, and
only artificial lures or flies may be used during this period. Both fish were caught on a 5 inch watermelon Senko worm, wacky rigged on a #2 circle
hook and fished on the bottom. I talked to another guy there who was having good luck with a watermelon colored tube bait on a small jig. My experience at Otter Creek is that if you drive over the bridge and see that the water is yellowish brown, you may as well do a U-turn & go home. If the water is any shade of green or clear the fish may be biting.
Good Luck,
Kurt
