Fished Dale today (1-8-12) for the first time with shiners. Didnt have a day with numbers but had a day with quality. All fish came from 25-35ft. I see how that place can become addictive!

Great pics! I'll take quality over quantity any day!
tell us more ......did u drift, cast them, set up, regardless good job
We tight lined straight over the side of the boat. A very slow drift, let the wind carry us or just used the trolling motor. Didnt move fast at all. Used a 3/0 Gammy Circle Hook with a #3 Split shot about 18"above hook. Spinning rods with 10lb flourocarbon. Fished points near the main river channel. Never been in the area of the lake that I fished. Only been on the lake 3-4 times period. Used my GPS to find good looking areas and then used Lowrance Structure Scan to Isolate the fish.
thanks for the info winter fishing takes all the hints tips an what works......u better get back while we still have some decent temps
Hey man congradulations!! You did a alot better than I did at Barren this weekend (1 fish & 2 bites) You've convinced me ! Dale's the way to go.
Nice smallies, what was the water temp, and level? And were did you get your shiners? ~Bill
Water temp was 50d. I am sure it has changed now after the rain. Not sure on exact water level. Looked about 8ft low? Shiners came from Punisher One Stop.
