Malcolm Creek (on KY) or Eddy Creek (on Barkley) ?

I want to try and plan a fishing trip for a buddy and myself. I have never fished on Kentucky or Barkley lakes so I really don't know which to choose.

Between Malcolm Creek or Eddy creek which would be better for Bass fishing? My friend doesn't like crappy fishing so bass is the only real concern.

Also if you had a choice what would be the most favorable weeks to try to plan this? My friend is seriously ill and will likely deteriorate dramatically in the coming years, so I would love for him to have a fun, successful fishing trip while he is still most able to enjoy it. Plus he would be driving about nine hours to get there, I would feel really bad if I picked a week that is not good for fishing there.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion, I really appreciate it.

Both are good choices. I wood look to go between mid April and mid May. I have had good luck in both places. If I would have to pick just one I would go with Eddy creek. I have caught some good Largemouth and Smallmouth there. You could fish in this creek all day and it has both shallow and deep water. I usually go the last week in April. The weather this time of year can be unpredictable but we always catch plenty of fish. Water temps is usually between low 60's to mid 70's.

Third or Fourth week of April are good times to be anywhere on either lake. Weather of course in spring can be unpredictable (storms) but you can't plan around what you don't know will or will not happen with the weather. Both areas have good bass fishing, but if we get a lot of rain the time you are going to be here, Eddy Creek will muddy up much faster and more than the Malcolm/Big Bear area.
