It's pretty much due East of Dallas - about an hour or so drive. Make sure you take some red rattletraps!!

What you do is get a hotel in Emory and fish both Fork and Towakoni. They are both on my list now that i live in TX.

I know Texas is full of good lakes. Had an uncle that lived in Teague. Richland Res and Lake Limestone were close. I've just heard so much about Lake Fork that I thought I may try it. Heck, I hear it's closer there than to Kissimmee Fla.

have been to both places , be ready for wind and bumper pool with trees on fork but the fishing is good , the cold fronts tend to shut the fl. bass down but when its right it can be a blast , have fun wherever you decide to go.

I guess your probably fishing for Bass but I have fished Lake Tawakoni a few times and it is on fire for Blues. It is almost unreal at times given the bite and fight. Only thing about Tawakoni is the wind gets up without notice and things can get hairy, just stay alert and be prepared, Good Luck with your Texas adventures and be safe!
