Hey 410th, which Wal Mart was that? I may have to actually check out the one near me. I haven't actually looked at their fishing gear in a couple of years because they rarely had anything I was looking for.

Not a big Wall-Mart fan, but had to go yesterday and looks like they are starting to bring there fishing stuff up to date. Seen some of the better rods, Abu Garca, Skeet Reese, and Falcon Rods. They now have Tungsten Sinkers and Tro Kar Hooks, A lot of stuff on the discount racks now.

I read on another forum the same thing, they are starting to carry the Quantum KVD rods, the strike king squarebills and so forth. Maybe realizing that Zoom plastics, Rapalas, and eagle claw hooks are not the only things people buy?
I will be in heaven if the sale the 1.5's by me
Only because they got back with FLW as a sponsor...after they dropped em you couldn't buy a pack of split shots at wally world, now there slowly building a bigger fishing dept.
That would be great if they start selling better stuff at our local Walmart. I do know though that at ours they are getting rid of all the "Sea Sense" brand boating products and replacing it with a cheaper quality product.
Not the case at the Elizabethtown store, still the same junk as usual. Wouldn't want to give Wal-Mart anymore money anyways. I would rather give my money to Tackle Warehouse.
Our local WalMart has started carrying a bit more fishing stuff too. It's funny that the Wal-Mart in Scottsboro, AL (on Lake Guntersville) has carried as much stuff as some of our local tackle shops for years.
Does anyone know if any in the Louisvill, KY area is carrying these?

410TH you are on it!. The boating accessories are changing and driving lots of good stuff to the bargain isle. In E-town, I noticed all the Sea-Sense stuff was gone and replaced by Shoreline Brand. No idea how good that stuff is, but the Seasense hit the discount rack....examples:
15 foot poly braid dock lines that normally sell for $15 each, were $5, and the 20 footers were the same price. 4 inch poly vinyl bow rollers that normally sold for $27.00, were now $12 each. $12 led courtesy lights for inside the boat or storage lockers were $4. Just a couple examples, to go with the discount fishing gear you noted.
