I've been catching sauger at Greenup all winter, but if you haven't been you ought to give it a shot. It's getting close to the spawn and all the L&D's should be full of them right now.
We've done best on various jigs and grubs, but lots of guys fish minnows on the bottom.
Three of us all caught our limits yesterday just down from the dam on the Ohio side. Several big ones 18-20 inches, a saugeye and my buddy lost a nice walleye at the bank.
Go get you a nice bunch of filets! Nothing wrong with some hot fish and cold beer

I fish Greenup once in a while, but usually avoid the crowds and fish the lock side in KY, catch some decent sized sauger, crappie, and an occasional walleye. Have you tried the lock side at all?
I've fished the Ky side 3 times this winter and caught 2 sauger there.
I've talked to a lot of people that do well over there. The guys that runs the bait shop up the road swears the Ky side is just as good as the Oh side, but it just hasn't worked out for me.
