Very Nice............
Did you know what it was when they caught it and have you ever seen any others?
I noticed the difference in color right away. I had heard of blue walleye but had never seen one. After some research and asking around on the interweb I realized how rare it was...
Do you think it was a stocker or natural reproduction.
I'm thinking natural........
At any rate, that is COOL.

With the introduction of the alewives in the 70's the walleye population declined and over the next 4 years there was no new 'eyes shocked up in Dale. There has been a stocking program In place ever since. Mostly Erie golds.
Nice fish for sure! Dale Hollow sure is an amazing Lake for fish!
"The last blue walleye caught in Lake Erie by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources was in 1965."
What is this - the Harry Potter version of fishing for Canada???
Did he put it back. Don't look like it?
I hope so
OK.......I take it back.........I may have taken it to the DNR to confirm, or something..
If it is a true blue, it is more than rare, and probably could have/should have been studied.....
I don't know the details so I won't make any assumptions.
BTW........the story about the Dale fish is now in the Wiki article on Blue Walleye.

Watched a fishing show a few weeks ago and they caught numerous blue walleye.....
