    You can get the flow and depth here --- http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ky/nwis/current/?type=flow ---- this site has all the streams/rivers in the state --- Elkhorn is listed under Frankfort county --- it takes a little practice/experience to understand the "upper limits" of what is both safe and worth going from a fishing perspective.

    It didn't happen in the Claw... made that just fine. It was really just a freak thing. No rapids just got off balance. He picked up a new Coosa and had the seat raised up, so that's what we figured happen. Just some bad luck was all it was. We're chalkin this one up to a "learning experience" and the guys at Canoe KY were really cool and showed us a way to rig your poles for rapids where even if you do go over, everything stays put.
