Lure accident

This required a trip to the ER. It was our last day on the water and Charlie was the lucky recipient of an errant cast. Four grown men in a basstracker is a little tight quarters for casting.

Ouch!!! I have never had one sink in on my body past the barb....actually had a crank bait hit me in the back this weekend and luckily didn't stick in!

We were concerned the hook might have embedded in the skull. The hat was covering up the entrance area.

The guy that cast the lure accompanied the victim into the ER and asked the front desk person, "Four guys in a small boat, why are we here?" The desk person's response was " Dehydration?" Nope,guess again. " Hook?" Bingo.

The hospital even had a "kit" pre-assembled for HOOK REMOVAL.

The doctor was going to cut the entire hat to get a better view of the wound when she was asked, why can't you just cut a small circle where the hook entered? It was a good hat and had a lot of sentimental value. The hat lived.

I have purposely edited all names to protect the innocent and the guilty.
Once we were back at the cabin, the victim was encouraged to drink lots of "Brown Water" (Woodford Reserve) to ease his pain and suffering. The victim complied. Not wanting the victim to drink alone,we all enthusiastically joined him.

I also told him not to lean back in the truck seat to prevent him from hooking the head rest and leaving him "caught" in the truck.
