I'll have 7 or 8, depending on what time of year. Like now, i'll have 3 set up for plastics, texas rig. 2 for cranks, 1 spinner bait, 1 jig. If it's a day tourn i'll have a c-rig also. Tr

I'm curious how many rods you all have setup to fish a tournament. I carry 10 to 12 but normally only use a few. Always worried i may need that one pole I left at home.
Tight lines!

Depends on the lake, conditions, time of year, and water clarity. For example if I am night fishing I might only have a spinnerbait and a worm on. It also depends if I had time to practice. I had time to practice I might have a better idea what to do. I usually have around 8 rods ready sometimes less and sometimes more. But I usually have a couple in the rod locker just in case. You want to have some backup rods just in case and rods don't weigh much anyway so they won't slow you down.
I always have more than I use.
Let me see:
Shakey head set up = 1
Top Water = 1
C-Rig = 1
Jig = 1
Crankbait = 2
So 6 for what I feel I would need for a tourney BUT........
Extra cranking rod = 1
Extra Spinning Rod = 2 (one for shakey head and 1 for jerk baits)
all around rod for anything = 2 (medium heavy 7')
Never know when I may break a rod or need an extra reel off one so I definitely carry spares! I always have extra line in the boat in case something stupid happens in a big ziplock bag.
