Newbie to board and in need of info - Toledo area

I was an avid fisher as a boy ( highschool) but had to give it up as an adult. I am near retirement and started to revive fishing again. I bought a kayak and I am looking for areas to fish it. I am limited in travel time due to family responsibilities. Looking for good locations, and any advice on fishing and setting up my kayak. My first attempt to a bait caster would have kept all you experienced fisthermen in stitches. Thanks and looking forward to replys.

Hi and welcome to the board! I grew up in midwest Ohio (Troy area) and still fish the rivers/streams around there from time to time but unfortunately can't help you out with the waters around Toledo. I hear there's quite a few smallmouth in Lake Erie and St. Clair but I dont' suggest a kayak on those lakes.

Truth be told baitcasters give the best of us fits from time to time...hang in there and keep castin!

Try the Maummee River in upper areas around Waterville.
