Question Lew's Speed Spool or Shimano Caenan?

I'm finally going to buy a baitcaster and I need to decide between Lew's Speed Spool or Shimano Caenan. Both are around $90. I have a 6'6" medium action rod to put it on. Please, if you have not used the reel, please do not comment something negative about it because of the brand name. -Rico

I have the Shimano Caenan. It seems like a great reel and I'm slowly learning how to use it. But it's my first baitcaster so I really don't have anything to compare it to. I do recommend it though. I looked at a few other baitcasters in the same price range but kept coming back to the Caenan, mainly because it's a Shimano and I've been very happy with my Shimano spinning reels.

I'm a Shimano guy all the way, but between those two I would probably try the Lew's...

I haven't used the caenan but they feel cheap, however I have the lews and I love it. I am a huge shimano fan but I think there best reels start out at the citica and g up.

Just bought my 1st lew's this year and I love it. I needed a bait caster to cast lighter lures. It's casts a mile and can handle lighter lures 1/4 oz. that most baitcaster cannot. The guy at Sportsman Warehouse talked me into it and I am glad he did.

I have 3 speed spools and intend on replacing all mine with them, they cast as good as my revo's and are very smooth in my opinion.

Lew's Speed Spool or Shimano Caenan

I now have 5 of the new Lews Speed Spools and 2 of the older ones, if I went out and bought a new reel tomorrow it would be a Lews.
