    I can paint them

I can paint them for you. I have airbrushed on and off for years. Going to start doing some tee shirts and licence plates on the side. I use to airbrush professionally, owned and operated Air Expressions. If the members on this site are willing to prep them (take off split rings and hooks, and sand/scuff lure best you can) everyone can have some great custom cranks. I only ask that if i do them cheap that people do not take them and try to sell them on ebay and such. often custom cranks go for $15-20 sometimes higher. If you prep them i will do them for about $3 each. Almost forgot, if you have several please send a tube of clear epoxy its $2-3 bucks at lowes or wal-mart and will do about 8-10 cranks. if you only have a couple then i have enough on hand. ill post some pics of my work later today or tommorow when i get home.

    link to photos

Did some examples this morning after posting. Same lure is used in all pics, this is just to give you an example. all colors will be about 1 shade darker when epoxy is applied. I can also make some stencils of fins and such to give a more lifelike appearance but i think you can get the idea from the pics. First pic is original DD22 lure.

    Custom Painting

Just curious. Can those of you who custom paint lures do some of the older colors such as the Heddon strawberry spot and Bomber white with wavy black line on side and white coachdog? If so, what would be the approximate cost? Thanks.

Yes.... Price depends on whether you prep the bait or painter does and how many you may want done discounts apply usually.
    Here's some I've done:

I might have 5-6 of which there might be1-2 wood. Does prepping mean hardware removal and light sanding? Would need a picture of the Heddon strawberry and Bomber white w/black wavy line and white coach dog?

Coachdog Waterdog Bombers were the best for KY lake back in the 1960's and still work today. I still have a few of them in my tackle box.

I'd like to see some of those after they are repainted. Could you posts pictures if you get them repainted?

I remember when they were made out of balsa wood. My father used to refurbish them himself. But he didn't have access to an airbrush system like we have today. He painted them with a brush.
