    Frogs

    Hey all,

I'm curious how you guys fish frogs, specifically the Ribbit frogs. I have one rigged to one of the non-weighted "Double Take" hooks that are made for these. Is there a certain type of action you want to give frogs? I just don't have any experience with them.

I also have a ScumFrog. Would you fish this differently than the Ribbit's?

    Thanks again.

I dont like the double take hooks myself. I use the gamakatsu non weighted hooks with the screw lock. I reel it just fast enough to keep it on top like a buzzbait. The point of the single hook goes in the groove down the frogs back and I skin hook it in there and its completely weedless. 80lb braid and it will get a fish out of the nastiest stuff there is.

Totally agree with the last guy you dont need two hooks to fish a frog im using a wide gap 5/0 lazer trokar hook skin hooking it in the groove just reel the thing fast enough to get it to leave a nice bubble trail should leave a trail similar to a good buzzbait if you reel it fast enough ive been using 14 pound mono with mine lately but im gonna be switching to atleast 65 pound braid as fish are moving deeper into the grass.

I am a zoom horny toad guy, but I too like the screw lock and no weight. Reel it across the top of the grass (if you have any) and kill it for a second then proceed your retrieve.
