    Found some slabs

Had an oppertunity to go fishing on Barren River Lake today with my fishing bud inspite of the pre-fish going on. Started out this morning around 6:30am fishing 12 - 18 foot around stumps and stake beds with minnows, spider rig style. We kept 16 that ranged from 9-1/2" - 12", mostly white crappie threw back many more. The wind got up around 12:30 and the fish slowed and so did we. Stil there is nothing better than spending a day fishing with a good friend. As we pulled the boat out of the water the fella next to us aked "howd yall do today?" I told him we kept 16, and his reply was "that's not so bad." I said..... bad? It beats watching Oprah anyday. He laughed and nodded in agreement.

Went again yesterday 9/28 kept 17 and lots of throw backs. As I was cleaning the 17, saw the beginings of the egg sacks for next springs spawn. Can't wait for cooler weather and heftier fish. Anyone else catching any?

OK, ya got me on that one !! LOL !!
And yeah ... Crappie fishing takes a backseat, here. So, if you're really into Crappie fishing .... I know of another site that you might also want to become a member of (if you're not already). PM me for details.

As to the make and model, its a 1998 Bass Tracker PF16 w/25 hp Johnson same year and it runs like a top. Has the stick steer that I was a little hesitant of when I first saw it but now, I wouldn't give it up for anything (nor would my grandkids). By the way, did I mention I love spider riggin?
