Crouch’s Treasure Lake - Petersburg, KY

I am going bass fishing at Crouch's Treasure Lake paylake in Petersburg next week. Does anyone have any tips or experience fishing this lake? If so I would love to hear about it! It is an 18 acre lake. I stopped in there once and was told they have 10 lb largemouth. I didn't think there were any largemouth that big is this area though? I would love to hear your thoughts on this lake. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. I don't know anything about your request but it looks like the casinos are close if the fish aren't biting.

It looks like 13 pounds 10.4 ounces (Woods Creek lake) is the current state record so a 10 pounder is not impossible.

    Good luck with your fishin.

I admit to having never heard of this place so I don't know anything about it. I did Google it and found some photos. As I said, I don't know anything about the place, but I would be skeptical about a place that brags about 10 pound bass in Kentucky. While they exist, there are not very common. What they might be talking about is the biggest bass ever caught there, not that you can reasonably expect to hook a 10 pounder. I honestly don't know, but would proceed with caution. That being said, I hope you catch one that size if/when you go.

used to fish it in the 70's & early 80's, the **** broke sometime in the mid 80's. Back then it was a far better bluegill lake than bass even though it was packed will lily pads and brush cover. 30, 40 fish Stringers of 9 and 10 inch fish were pretty common.. Still have pictures. Have no idea what it's like today.

It's a paylake near Petersburg,I haven't been there since the 70's but beer was more plentiful then. You'd have as much fun fishing Woolper creek where it meets the Ohio river there or the Gravel Pit lakes.

I fished that lake about 10-12 years ago when it wasn't in business. I fish the Ohio river down from Treasure Lake on Lawrenceburg Ferry road. I have a hard time believing that there is a 10 pounder in there. I have fished many many lakes through the years in Northern Kentucky and have never seen anything over 8 pounds with exception to Kincaid Lake which is a whole other story. The area in and around the Lake is really nice. I wish they still had a bar and a band playing on weekends, I would be a regular. I'm guessing they do not get much business, so the fishing should be pretty good.
