Sauger fishing Newburgh dam from bank

I wanting to try sauger fishing for the first time and was wanting to no if you are able to do any good fishing from the bank on the indiana side?

when I lived in evansville I would fish off of the bank at the old locks all the time. I would catch a sauger every now and then but usually more crappie than anything else. if you fish there with a bottom bouncing bait, expect to hang often and break off in the chunks. float and fly works real nice there
