    Build a rod rack...without 1 screw

Plans, material list, and cut list to build a 16 tube, 2 row, rod rack from PVC for under $50. Light weight!.
A mitre box saw would make this an easy 2-3 hours Saturday morning project. No screws used to build the basic rack.

Want to get even more fancy. Sit the completed rack on a piece of 1/2 plywood. Trace around the base of the rod rack. Use just 4 screws to screw it to then bottom of the rack, and then add 4 swiveling caster wheels to make it portable.

Mods for 7 foot rods in a house with 8 foot ceilings

Thanks for the great plans! I made a ten rod version and made a couple of minor adjustments to accommodate 7' long fishing rods with 8' ceilings:

    1. Reduce the height of the upright rod tubes from 12" to 11"
    2. Angle rod tubes in at 12 degrees off of vertical (78 degrees rather than 90 degrees).
    3. Cut two end spacers to 4 5/8" to stagger rod tubes so rods can cross. Put at opposite ends vis-a-vis front and back tubes.

With those mods, you can put in 8' rods without hitting the tips on the ceiling. An additional advantage is that the reels always face inwards making for a smaller footprint while keeping reels out of harm's way as people walk by.
