I agree - very cool rod rack! Was wondering if the rod tubes are spaced far enoug apart so you can put rods with bait casting reels side-by-side in your rod rack? I have to stagger rods with baitcasting reels with open faced spinning reels with the rod rack I have right now due to the reel handles rubbing against each other. If so I'll be making mine this weekend.

    Thanks for sharing!!

I was worried about that. The PVC Tees them selve, when set side by side, end to end, are 4.5 inches on center. The 2.5 inch spacer brings them tight together. You can put the rods in so the handle is out, and avoid all conflicts. Or, take the same plan, and just increase the spacer say to 4 inches (as opposed to the 2.5 inces on the plan) That would pust the tees to 6 inches on center.

In this picture, the rod tubes are 5 inhces on center and the reels are Garcia C3's. At 5 inces facing sideways they clear with an inch to spare.

This picture might help. Type rods and reels in it.

And it helps answer the question about space between rod tubes. This rack has the longer sections between each tee.
