Google it...the few times I have done it you would have a loop up the line whatever distance you wanted. Don't know what you call it but it is simple to tie.

I was wondering if anybody has an idea on how to have 2 hooks on a line for crappie. I’ve tried the set ups you can by with the stiff wire on them. I’m looking for a way to tie them myself.

Google Kentucky Rig and Capps and Coleman Rig. They are somewhat similar but they will give you something to look at.
This link is actually for making a pompano rig. Downsize it for crappie, it works great. Watch the video for an excellent demonstration on how to make the loops. Turning 2 hours into a most unforgetable moment | Boatless Fishing Reel Time Fishing News
Thanks everybody. I'll be trying these out.
This the set up I use most of the time for jigs and live bait. Its quick and easy to do. Just remember to leave some extra line for a weight at the bottom to get you down to the depth your wanting to fish. And the way you are wanting to fishing. ( Drifting, trolling, setting still, ect.)

I over hand a 3" loop on the bottom then over hand it again. I move up about 14 inches and over hand a second 3" loop then over hand it again, with the result being 1 ft between the loops. I do the same for a third loop. I pinch the bottom loop and thread it through a jig and around the body. I add hooks to the other two loops the same way. The result is a quick three bait rig that I can easily remove the hardware in a minute or two when i am done. You can add jigs to all three if you want or add more baits if you want to cover move depth with one rig.
