    Stripers on lake cumberland

I've been doing some fishing at Lees Ford, and was wandering what time of the spring the stripers start moving back toward the dam. I'm still learning to catch these guys any input would be much appreciated.

According to the information I received you can catch stripers out of Fishing creek up until June/July depending on water temp. After that they start moving down the lake but start return around October when the water cools down.

The stipers were on fire by Lee's Ford the other week. Check out Captain Jim's striper report. He is primarily based out of Lee's Ford. The picture of the fish finder covered in stripers is one that I took. If you are new to striper fishing I highly recommend Captain Jim and ask him to give you pointers on where to fish. He is very free with his information, as you can see by the level detail he puts in his fishing report.

I caught the stripers in the picture attached about a week and a half ago in Fishing Creek. The aerator pump in my bait tank failed that night, half my bait was dead and the other half barely moving. I still limited it out in under 3 hours with almost dead bait. Like I said they were on fire and didn't care what they were eating.

    June

I've caught a bunch of them in June at night shallow. If the water temps aren't to hot it is actually pretty normal. I've actually caught them in July fishing the rip rap of the dam at night on topwater. The place was full of them. One cast would be a Striper & the next a Smallmouth. All on the old smoky joe colored red fin.
