Haven't been yet this year but usually take the ooportunity later in the summer as long as the flow is good. Good flow equals better fishing in my experience. When it gets slow and the water stagnates a bit so does the fishing.

Has anybody fished the river in Bowling Green? Ive only heard one report from there so far this Spring and the report sounded pretty decent. Does anybody have any idea on how the fishing is on the river?

I fished last Friday, Tuesday and last night. Caught fish everyday. The largest was a 16 inch spot and a few smallies in the 14-15" range. I was kayaking under the old bridge upstream of boatlanding ramp last night and something tailed right in front of the boat. Sacred the crap outta me!! Whatever it was (thinking carp, gar or muskie) was gigantic. Ive had luck tossing 2" and 3" swim baits on a spinner jig. Fish are close to cover as usual in the river.
Fishing has been really good in Barren River so far. We've caught several musky, bass, crappie, hybrid, and sauger over the last few weeks.
