    Licking River - Fredrick's Landing

Does anybody know how I can purchase a pass/permit to use the Fredrick's Landing boat ramp? I've been there a couple times and seen the big sign saying I need one but there is never anybody there to buy one from. I honestly just want to put my kayak in there but I figured if my vehicle didn't have the pass in it I would get a ticket or even towed. If not does anyone know a place nearby that boat ramp that I could legally park and put my yak in the licking? The reason I ask is I'd like to paddle up to Banklick creek and he what I could hook into there. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You have to purchase the permits at the Wilder city building, during work hours. They do have a parking and a launching permit, I used to put my canoe in there so I just bought the parking permit, I can't remember how much it was (I think $20.00 for the year), but it's $50.00 a year for the launch permit. You can probably put your yak in at the park in Newport, Gen. Taylor Park. Also there is a free ramp on up the licking a bit, it's off Decorsey Pike in Kenton Co.

    Good Luck

+++, Wilder city building is north of Fredericks Landing, about 1/4 on the left going north on AA.

On another note, I started to put my boat in downtown behind US Bank Areana, it's $5.00 to launch there , but there is hardly anyone ever working the booth unless there is a ball game, I also find the fishing better on the Ohio River too. Just some food for thought.

They are $50 per year for a truck and trailer. But just a heads up and I hope no one from the city is looming on here but if you park there without a permit and get a ticket all you have to do is buy the parking pass. So if you are not going to be down there all the time it would be worth the risk. Also if you go there on a saturday during the summer there will be someone there working the gate. you will have to pay then if you don't have a pass. You might be able to buy the pass there though... not sure.
