Ate lunch at Kobe in Jeffersonville today. They had Stripped Bass on their sushi menu. Translates into raw striper. I would think this was farm raised and not the quality some on here are used to.
Anybody ever served raw striper as sushi or otherwise?
Maybe should carry some teriyaki sauce on the boat.

I ate after drinking in Hawaii. At least there it was was fresh. Nothing served locally is going to my tummy without being cooked.
Right. There is another thread somewhere on here about that. As a rule I only eat fish I catch. I did eat some sushi of unknown species at lunch and I won't get into where I am sitting as I post this.It could have been something else. I eat sushi at the japanese restaurant in town quite frequently and i like it. People can say what they want, but if most people knew what they actually ate theyd be disturbed. No telling whats put in the processed foods we eat. This reminds me of germaphobes who stay sick trying to stay away from the germs
I too eat sushi every once in a while, but it is VERY HARD to get good sushi this far inland. I don't CARE what folks say.
and as for eating anything local.........NOPE.
The rockfish they are serving is more than likely caught from the ocean and not fresh water. From what I understand the salt has a lot to do with making sure micro organisms are not growing on it.

Love sushi!! Love raw fish dipped in wasabi and soy sauce! If a restaurant like Kobe Steakhouse had it on the menu I would try it.
