Where were you?
It is tough to Kayak in the wind; but on the flip side it kind of know better where the fish are going to be. I usually try to anchor or run aground and pitch into the wind.

I fished a few hours today in that terrible wind and man it was tough. Paddling back against the wind and I had waves coming over the front and even had a few times that I had to wait for a wave to hit me so I didn't spear it deeper. I was never worried and enjoyed the workout but others who watched me prolly thought......hmmmm that boy and got so sense!! Hahaha
I caught a few bass and other species as well. A good few hours in the sun!

I know what you mean about a work out, had to paddle back against the wind about 2 miles.. I was alittle sore the next day..lol that was in my pungo 120... I just got me a hobie outback a couple months ago ,cant wait to see how it handles the wind.. only been out in it twice, because of the working thing.. hope to use it this weekend.. maybe the bass will be biting..
I fished on lake ellerslie in Lexington. It's so close to my house and the fishing isn't bad. I really want to put a manual stake system on my yak to stop me in place. You know kind of like the hydraulic ones on the bass boats.

I believe I found what I was looking for! Now I just need to see if its cheaper anywhere else.
Go to Lowes, I'm sure you can find adjustable pole for less. Maybe in painting or lawn and garden. Or just find straight stick that is sturdy.
You should check out a hobie with the mirage drive, it makes it ALOT easier to go into the wind not to mention hands free so you can fish!!
