Herrington jug fishing

A few friends of mine have been asking to go jug fishing for quite awhile out on Herrington so I think I'm going to take them tonight. How's the catfishing been this year? I havent been in years. I plan on using live bluegill and maybe a few with night crawlers. These guys rarely go fishing so I'm looking to hopefully catch a few for there sake. I've heard that placing them off the deep "walls" that drop down to 50-100 feet is productive but for some reason that seems unlikely to me. Is that actually. My plan was to place a few around the mouths of creeks (cane run). A few around the road bed directly across the lake. And then some off the ledges down toward the dam. I'm open to any suggestions, just trying to not have a terrible trip.

Had a pretty good night, caught a lot of fish, most were gar but a few flatheads. We had enough action to keep us busy for most of the night which was great!
